The brown sauce on the broccoli was more like brown sugar sauce--really gross--and there were globules of white fat in it. I asked if the satay was chicken breast and she said it was, but one piece was definitely dark meat, slimy yucky dark meat. Not that it mattered much since it was coated with butter and sugar and rendered as inedible as everything else.
The carrot ginger salad dressing was short on the ginger, super sweet and watery in consistency. Oddly, they brought me a bowl of brown rice after I asked for it, but then they brought another bowl of brown rice.
I said I'd already gotten it. So she took it back and then several minutes later brought out the extra bowl of brown rice again. I didn't order the chicken teriyaki because it was "cranberry teriyaki"--again with the sweet theme, I guess.
They don't have normal teriyaki. The service came with attitude that was anything but friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't go back even if it were free. I visited this restaurant with my sister when we were in NYC. We are both on a gluten free diet sure to health reasons. When doing a search for restaurants that were GF friendly, Lili's 57 came up. I was intrigued because it had been This restaurant had those items plus others that were prepared gluten free.
We decided to try the place out and I was not disappointed! I thoroughly enjoyed the sesame chicken and did not have any reactions after. On the website, though, it says that they serve lunch daily from to We visited the restaurant at about on a Sunday and were informed that they only serve lunch portions on weekdays. So, we had to order dinner portions instead which was more expensive. Other than that, I was happy! Nice local place! Staying near by, it was late, my family and I were tired and hungry and had a very good meal.
Small and some what non-descript, the staff was friendly and we were seated right away. The menu was broad. My sashimi was My daughter really liked her "box" combo.
I'd go back! I really enjoyed my "phoenix roll! Lots of food choices, food was very adequately prepared, but the service was horrendous.
The server just did not take care of us and it wasn't all that busy. I was extremely cold and uncomfortably freezing the I ordered an appetizer of seseme noodles and they had no taste and sesemes and they were extremely soggy, not supposed to be a soup.
I also ordered pork dumplings and those had 0 flavor as well. Then I ordered some spicy noodles and those were okay and had a little flavor.
Then mongolian beef was pretty good. I told her I had no taste on my noodles and did not get a refund. Poor service. I feel bad for saying but everyone was pretty nice. It's loud and it's crowded. The food was good but nothing special. The service is rushed and a bit unfriendly, and the paper table cloths and napkins don't add much to a rather dull decor. Overall, it's fine but why go here when there are This feels like a take-out place and they seemed in a hurry to get people in and out.
There's also no rest room for customers, which is very odd. This place is not a Japanese gastro-palace by any means, or a place to go on a date, but it is ideal to pop into for a sushi lunch if you are pressed for time in my case running to a meeting.
